About WDHRC

Let’s Know About Our History

In 2020, Wakiso District Human Rights Committee –WDHRC went through a critical process and time to assess the impact of COVID19 on the livelihood and human rights of the people of Wakiso District.

The formation of the Human Rights Committees at the Districts was a recommendation from the Uganda Human Rights Commission. The Ministry of Local Government issued a statutory notice for purpose of effecting the same. The WDGHR objectives outlined in the Committee’s strategic plan are:-

  • To profile WDHRC with a special focus on the Committee’s mandate, functions, approach, achievements, challenges and recommendations (objective 1: To create awareness on human rights to people of Wakiso District).
  • To ensure the generation of quality, inspiring, innovative and pioneering evidence based research that informs key WDHRC activities / Programmes (objective 2: To research on human rights violations in Wakiso District).

We Are Working For 5+ Years On
